The month of May blossom, fragrant flowers and ripening fruits in our gardens, is also the month the Church dedicates to Mary, the Mother of God and our Mother. In school, we continue to celebrate the joy of Easter brings by praying the Regina Caeli prayer (O Queen of Heaven, rejoice) instead of the Angelus at midday. We honour her by trying to think about scenes of her Son’s redeeming life and learn how to love Jesus more, when we say decades of the Rosary. We teach the children to pray to God through her and that she asks Jesus on our behalf, for whatever we need.
