Silver Awards at The Wandsworth 24 Game KS1 Tournament 2018

Oliver House sent a team of three pupils to The Wandsworth 24 Game KS1 Tournament 2018, held on Wednesday 7 February 2018 and were rewarded with Silver Awards in the individual scores and the team event.

We were up against stiff competition from 18 other Wandsworth schools and we were delighted when Ben won an individual Silver Award and the combined scores of our Oliver House Team won us the Team Silver Award!

It was an opportunity to join other Year 2 children across Wandsworth and represent our school in an enjoyable and exciting competition which promotes team work and helps secure mental maths skills. The tournament is based on a game to make 24 from a set of numbers using the operations of addition and subtraction.

Our pupils have been working very hard each lunchtime at KS1 Maths Club to prepare for the tournament and the willingness to take part and work hard certainly paid off!
