Living Eggs Project

On Monday 5th March we eagerly awaited the arrival of the living eggs and incubator and when they finally arrived the children were fascinated to see the ten eggs that we had received and talk about when we might expect the eggs to hatch. In Reception the children had a sweep stake on which egg might hatch first with numbers one and ten being the popular choices! On Wednesday morning we had our first three arrivals and between then and Friday morning all ten of the eggs hatched. The children learned a lot about the care of the chicks and the chicks had lots of visitors who were keen to hold and stroke them. We are looking forward to watching the chicks grow and develop over the course of this week before they return to the farm on Friday lunch time.
