Partnership with Parents
Parents are a child's first teacher for the first five years. This does not stop when the child enters school. We, at Oliver House, consider the role of the school as one that supports the parents in this task, rather than taking the task from them. Parents are seen as vital partners in a child's education.
We see the parents and the teachers as partners in the children's education and development. As partners, we recognize our shared interests in and the responsibilities of bringing up the children to become competent men and women with a well-rounded education with Christian principles to guide them in all facets of their lives.
We are committed to fostering a practical working relationship with the parents of the children in our school. When parents, teachers, students, and the community see one another as partners, a caring community forms around students and begins its work which is to help all children succeed in school and become critically thinking members of society throughout their lives.
